Smith Puget (Jade’s brother and AFI’s tour manager) has been at my house most of the day. There have been a few cameras involved. And bicycles. And serenading of my cats. And interrupting crucial meetings at my work. And possibly some vomit. I can’t verify that, but it may have happened.
I knew some of what was going to happen today, but I came to find out that the other five Begin Transmission winners and I are part of something much, much larger. Tomorrow, Smith will be in Seattle with the first winner, Natacia. Then Raine. Then Courtney. Then Christy. Then Brock.
And there’s more for everyone else. AHHHHHH I will not say much more, but AFI has gone above and beyond, not just for the new record, but for their entire community. I know we are all fans for our various reasons, but my experience so far with this Begin Transmission project has given me a new love for this band.
The transmission has just begun.
